Where to put rules (system prompt)

Claude CLI rules can be stored in .claude/config.json at the repo root. If you’re using Claude Code specifically, their official config uses .claude/settings.json and optional CLAUDE.md, but you can keep the same rules text in your .claude/config.json if that’s what your setup uses.

Steps

Export context:

blocpad tasks focus ERS-1 --md > blocpad-context.md

In Claude CLI, paste your instruction and include blocpad-context.md.

Example prompt

Implement the task described in the BlocPad context below.

Constraints:
- Do not ask for auth tokens.
- Avoid unrelated refactors.
- If you need clarification, ask 1 question and stop.

After changes:
- List files modified
- Provide verification commands
